My Story...
I first heard of Reiki in the early 90's when I was in graduate school at Springfield College in Springfield, MA. I was studying Health Promotion/Wellness Management and took a class in Holistic Medicine. Twelve years later, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I knew then I wanted to incorporate some holistic or complementary medicine with the standard medicine of surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation. I was introduced to Jeannette Lee Bessinger who became my Reiki practitioner, teacher/mentor, and friend.
I began my Reiki treatments when I started chemotherapy. After each session, I felt relaxed and at peace. My skin had more color, and I felt more vibrant, with much more energy. I looked forward to every session throughout chemotherapy and radiation and continued with Reiki even after I finished all my treatments. It was relaxing, and I felt my spirit, mind, and body was more in balance.
I wanted to delve more into Reiki and to be able to be a conduit of Reiki energy for others, so I completed Reiki I, II, and Advanced level Reiki workshops with Myra Partyka (ReikiMaster/Teacher) at All That Matters in Wakefield, RI and completed my Reiki Master level with Jeannette Bessinger (Reiki Master Shihan) at Balance for Life, LLC in Newport, RI. I received my Reiki Master/Teaching training with Georgia LaCroix (Reiki Master/Teacher, CMT, CEIM) at The Cardinal Center for Healing, Fairfax, VA where I also completed Advanced level IET (Integrated Energy Therapy)
I volunteer my Reiki services at Inova Fairfax Hospital at Life with Cancer and also see clients at my home studio.
It is my goal to help you bring balance and inner peace to your life through Reiki. I encourage you to try Reiki so that you too can experience its healing power.
I have a Master's Degree in Health Promotion/Wellness Management and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Counseling and Student Personnel both from Springfield College, Springfield, MA.
